Flights of Fancy - carriage
Henson's 1842 design for an 'Aerial Steam Carriage' was based on the ideas of Sir George Cayley. The patent drawings, and imaginative sketches derived from them, received world-wide publicity. The plane never left the drawing board, but still inspired widespread research and experimentation.
